At Fleet Wood Lane Primary School we strive to support all children to enable them to achieve at school. In order to do this many steps are taken to support them through their learning journey. However, for some children there are occasions when further additional support may be required to help them to achieve their targets.
Who is the SENCo and how do I contact them?
Mrs Michelle Parker is the SENCo. She can be contacted by making an appointment either directly or through the school office on 01406 423351.
The SEND governor can also be contacted by making an appointment through the school office.
What training has been undertaken by staff to support my child?
The SENCo has completed the National SENCo award and is also ELKLAN trained.
Staff have had a range of training
- Epipen training
- Basic first aid, with some staff trained to a higher level
- Tier 1 Autism Awareness training
- Team Teach manual handling training
- Dyslexia training
- Basic Makaton
- TAs have had precision teaching training
- Safeguarding training
- Hearing impairment training for key staff
- Restorative practice
- De-esculation training
We also work closely with a number of local primary schools as part of a collaborative partnership. The collaborative partnership works as part of a local cluster group.
